"Metamorphic Orpiment" Art Print
Shipping calculated at checkout.
All Cytokinesis artwork is made with the acrylic pouring technique. It is a fun technique that takes advantage of the paint's fluidity to achieve beautiful organic combinations and cells.
This art print is called "Metamorphic Orpiment" due to its cell formation and colours. The yellows, oranges and browns morph into each other resembling the mineral orpiment.
This mineral can be found in volcanic formations and hot springs. It was once used by Middle Easter artists as a paint pigment for the colour gold and was also known as the King's yellow. Though it is no longer used due to its lethal toxicity.
This art print goes best with earthy-toned or golden frames.
Our art print might not be lethal but it is still intoxicating!
